Today I received a rather broken-down version of a wonderful, inspiring story of Irena Sendler. It inspired me to research her story for full details. It really is incredible. Here is the Wikipedia link:

It makes me wonder just how many heros are amongst us every day. So many people who are NOT recognized for the small things they do. So many people that step into dangers way to help us. Take a moment to realize the heros in your life......think of ways you can be heros to others.
I'll share a poem I shared with my dad on Father's Day:
My hero is the quiet type,
No marching bands, no media hype,
But through my eyes it's plain to see,
A hero, God has sent to me.
With gentle strength and quiet pride,
All self-concern is set aside,
To reach out to his fellow man,
And be there with a helping hand.
Heroes are a rarity,
A blessing to humanity.
With all they give and all they do,
I'll bet the thing you never knew,
My hero has always been you.

Moving is emotional!
Well we have our new house, but have 9 more sleeps in our old house. We have been back and forth between houses. At the new house, we've been cleaning, prepping, painting, organizing, etc. and bringing boxes and boxes of our "stuff" to minimize the cost come moving day. We are very excited but with all the comotion of moving, working, living and children...we struggle to find the time to enjoy what is happening. So much ties us to the old house, it is so nice...especially the back yard; a Muskoka-like retreat right in the a busy city - I think that is what I'll miss the most. It has been a very spiritual place for me. I trust God will provide me with a new place to retreat to. As well, my mom was IN this house....she will never be in our new house; losing her so tragically was very difficult, I am at peace with it now, but still miss so much about her. My children were conceived and brought home in this house. I remember the joy of setting up the nursery for the first time. The excitement Joe & I had when we first moved it....having our first "real house". I always struggle with change, but I do embrace it because I do believe that change is always good. One thing that never changes is God is with me no matter where I am. Thank you.
This was the last Christmas I had with my mom. Here she is with my daughter, Amanda (2009).

I'm a Blogger-In-Training....
So very confused but I'll figure it out! :) This is a whole new world for me. I feel so out of touch with all this stuff.....and lately, I've been a little closed-minded about trying out new things like this.....but we shall see.......:)
